On Why I Love Paint

Way way back in October last year the ANU School of Art  ran a three day symposium on abstract painting. Collectively, the symposium and its associated exhibitions were called This Way Up. And I couldn’t have been happier. Y’see, for readers who don’t know me (??) paint is my achilles heel. It’s an attraction that got me into this art mess in the first place, and it’s what I studied. I don’t paint now, but I think about it an awful lot and am hopelessly drawn to the work of painters in all forms. Thanks to Art Monthly Australia I was also able to write about painting in the context of the symposium. The article runs in this month’s issue of the magazine, which is out fresh, but if you can’t get your hands on a copy you can read it in full here by clicking on the link below.
